Mammoth Site
In the afternoon we toured an archaeological site, The Mammoth Site, Hot Springs, SD.  It was impressive.  All of these mammoths had fallen into a sink hole and preserved for about 26,000 years!  The museum is built right over the dig so you see the workers discovering the fossils right before your very eyes!

The other amazing thing was the variety of animals found there… even camels and llamas!  Mysterious and thought provoking…  I especially enjoyed hanging out in the life-sized mammoth-tusk hut.

Tonight at the Black Hills National Forest campground, I met a really nice 9 year old boy named Evan.  He is from La Crescent, Minnesota.  We played hacky sac and tag with another camper named Lizzie.  It was a blast.  We laughed so much that it made my tummy hurt.
