August 1, 2001
We are now camped at the Sierra National Forest, just outside Yosemite National Park.

This is Daniela and me. Daniela is from Peru. We met at Bridal Veil Falls. Can you believe that I have a traditional outfit from Peru? Here you can see me wearing it!

The Giant Sequoias helped inspire the early parks and conservation movement and in 1864, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Yosemite Grant.

The Giant Sequoia reaches its full height in its first 800 years then begins to add bulk instead of height for the next 2,000 years~ WOW!

We didn't stay at Yosemite too long -- my dad thought it was too much like Disney World and too crowded. Plus we were excited to see Uncle Don Crain in California so we hightailed it out of Yosemite Valley!
